Do forgive my obsessive countdown but at this point I'm rearing to go out and use what I have learnt!!
Today I spent 3 hours working on one problem from my economics problem set on peak oil. Please google peak oil and read about Hubbert's Peak and Deffeyes' theory that production of oil has already peaked by 2004.
In a week's time we will be presenting our topics from Micheal Pollan's book 'The Omnivore's Dilemma', worth a read. It will give you a whole new perspective on food and corn in particular. Apparently, all the food in the United States is one form or other of corn. Interesting. My view is more like a suspension of disbelieve. Is it possible for any group of people to be more neurotic about what goes into their mouth?
